Dear St. Michael Families:
Since 1881, Saint Michael School
has continued to provide our children with the finest in Catholic education.
Its legacy of rigorous academic
standards, sound faith formation and exemplary parent involvement
are well recognized gifts. This year we celebrate the twentieth anniversary
of another of these gifts: the SMART Auction. Over the course of
these years, the generous support of the families and friends of
Saint Michael School has allowed the SMART Auction to raise nearly
$1,500,000 in support of the endowment fund and capital improvements.
This in turn has allowed the school to provide much needed tuition
assistance to needy and well qualified students who otherwise would
not be able to attend our fine school.
This year’s SMART Auction, “Venti
Anni di Amore” or “Twenty
Years of Love,” pays homage to this great and wonderful heritage.
As a “Family of Families,” this year’s
SMART Auction again challenges us to participate in order to make this
special year
the best ever. Once again, the strength of SMART is in the quality
of the auction items. It is imperative that all Saint Michaels School
families accept this responsibility and procure items for the auction.
It is through these contributions that allow us to continue to provide
our students with such a wonderful Catholic education.
Procurement may
be difficult and confusing, but it can be fun as well. Procurement
means asking people to give something for free. Not easy,
but can you think of a better cause? Be positive, be upbeat, and be
creative. The enclosed Procurement Packet is full of tips and great
ideas that work. Team with your friends to build a fun “package” item.
Above all, have fun!
We want 100% participation from our school families!!!!
The procurement
drive starts March 6th and runs through May 31st. We want to make
this a fun community-building event that will benefit
everyone, especially our St. Michael students. As a school, when
we reach 300 items procured the whole school will receive a free dress
day. When we reach 600 items procured the whole school will receive
a free dress and field day. When we reach 900 items procured, the
whole
school will receive another free dress day and Mr. Nelson will dress
up like Edna Turnblad from Hairspray and sing a very special song
to the student body. As we said, have fun and creativity is the key.
Thank you for your efforts to build on the legacy: Saint Michaels
- A Remarkable Tradition.
